When Bollywood filmmakers think about making remakes it get mix responses from all sects but when it's a remake of a classic the expectations really get high. This was the same situation with director Shashank Khaitan's 'Dhadak'.

Dhadak, the remake of the popular Marathi movie, Sairat hit the silver screens today. This Janhvi Kapoor's debut and Ishaan Khattar starrer apparently 'lacks the soul of its own', since it looks like a cut-copy-paste of the original movie.

The weak narration and bland storytelling by Shashank Khaitan has ruined the original film.

The lead actors, Janhvi and Ishaan make a good couple and their chemistry on screen is worth applauding.

The movie has been set in the background of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It portrays the love story Madhu (Ishaan) and Parthavi (Janhvi). Madhu belongs to a low caste family whereas Parthavi to the elite. The girl's family is against their love affair and thereby the two have to run away. They eventually settle in Kolkata where Madhu's uncle helps them.

The music of the movie is a feather in its cap. We have already heard the soulful song 'Dhadak' on repeat and needless to say, 'Zingaat' too has made us tap our feet to every single beat.

Although the script is mediocre, the performances have had a great impact. Produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta, the movie, the story somehow is bland and lacks the element of a hit movie.

Overall, it's a one time watch only to encourage Ishaan and Janhvi!
