T-Series launched the trailer to court-room drama 'Section 375' a few minutes ago. Only last week, we were introduced with a teaser that showed Richa Chadha and Akshaye Khanna in an exhausting verbatim. It's not for nothing, as both bring to screen lawyers who find themselves on both sides of the law.
With a fleshed-out trailer, we now have more insight into the movie. The trailer begins with a wounded Anjali Dhamle (Meera Chopra) struggling to lodge an F.I.R as the policemen try to badger her down with irrelevant questions. We later find out she's a junior costume designer working on film production. She accuses the director Rohan Khurana (Rahul Bhat) of being her rapist.
We then jump into the perspectives of legal representation hired by the accuser and the accused. Richa Chadha is Hiral Mehta, the public prosecutor, and Akshaye Khanna as Tarun Saluja defends the accused party. The case soon turns into a matter of national sensation as both defenders of law find the case affecting their personal beliefs.
The story has a ring of #MeToo era to it, with both men and women recently coming out and speaking against these shocking instances involving abuse of power and privilege.' Section 375' will be one of the most sought releases not only because of the talent involved but also how it will deal with its depiction of Anti-Rape laws and its glaring loopholes; dwelling into some morally grey areas.
The film is directed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and also stars Meera Chopra, Rahul Bhat, Zakir Hussain, and Atul Kulkarni among others. 'Section 375' will be released on 13th September.
