Scott Z. Burns, known for his Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth and his screenplays The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), The Informant ! (2009), and Contagion (2011) is bringing a drama based on the secret torture program inside the CIA.

The trailer for The Report stars Adam Driver as Daniel J. Jones, a Senate staffer who undergoes an intensive investigation about the reality of CIA's interrogation program. We see the paranoia that gripped the people of United States after 9/11 terrorist attacks, and with Drivers voiceover, we know how he came to work for Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening).

She implores him to probe into the disappearances of interrogation tapes pertaining to Al-Queda detainees, and he finds himself questioning the morality of the methods. The cover-up follows as we are taken into the heart of freedom, corruption, and justice.

The Report is written and directed by Scott. Z Burns and stars Adam Driver. Annette Bening, Michael C. Hall, Jon Hamm, Corey Stall, and Maura Tierney. It played at the Sundance Film Festival this year and was brought by Amazon. The Report has been given a theatrical release date of November 15, 2019.
