It's been 13 years since 'The Devil Wear Prada' came out! The great Meryl Streep as the icy-cold Miranda Priestley became one of the most entertaining characters in the history of pop culture. Anne Hathway and Emily Blunt were tremendous in their supporting roles, giving one of the best performances of their careers.
'The Devil Wears Prada' is banking on its popularity and is soon coming to James M. Nederlander Theatre as a Broadway musical. Anna D. Shapiro will serve as the director with Paul Rudnick as a producer. Shaina Taub will look after the lyrics, with the great Elton John creating the show's music.
The musical will be patterned on the book and the movie, with the audience following a smart but sensible new graduate lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine. The movie version was written by Aline Brosh Mckenna and directed by David Frankel.
'The Devil Wears Prada' musical will debut on July 14, 2020.
