Fans of historical drama should look no further as "Vikings" is back! History channel's historical action-drama is back for a sixth season. The season will pick up after Bjorn's crowning as the new king of Kattegat and his struggles with power, as Vikings face the consequences of Ragnar's death and forthcoming battles.
Created by Michael Hirst, "Vikings" is inspired by the tales of the Norsemen of early medieval Scandinavia. It broadly follows the exploits of the legendary Viking chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok and his followers, family, and descendants as they yearn to explore and raid the distant shores across the ocean.
The sixth season stars Katheryn Winnick, Gustaf Skarsgård, Alexander Ludwig, Peter Franzen, and Jordan Patrick Smith in pivotal roles. The 20-episode sixth and final season will air in two parts, beginning with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, followed by eight episodes at 10 p.m. every Wednesday.
