Bollywood has a unique history of changing film titles due to several reasons. So today let's take a look at a few films that were originally had different titles.

Love Aaj Kal (2009) - Elastic
Imtiaz Ali's 2009 released Love Aaj Kal, which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Giselli Monteiro was originally titled as Elastic. Maybe because the film was far too stretched, the filmmaker was being honest with the title.
Hamari Adhuri Kahani - Tum Hi Ho
'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' was named 'Tum Hi Ho'. The title did justify the sad romantic storyline of the film. Maybe the title 'Tum Hi Ho' wouldn't have worked out for the film.
Tamasha - The Window Seat
Like many of Imtiaz Ali's films, Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer Tamasha was also originally titled as The Window Seat. The makers changed the title from The Window Seat to Tamasha as it would help the Indian audience to make a connection with the film. Tamasha's title was taken from Ghalib's poetry 'Hota Hai Shab-O-Roz Tamasha Mere Aagey' (your most personal thought is your life's biggest spectacle).
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Running With The Bulls
Before the production was started Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was tentatively titled 'Running With The Bulls'. However, when production began, the title was changed to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as it would have a greater connection with film audiences in India than the previous English title.
Jai Ho - Mental
Salman Khan's 2014 released Jai Ho was originally titled as Mental, but due to its negative connotation, the title was changed to Jai Ho.
Madras Cafe - Jaffna
John Abraham - Nargis Fakhri starrer Madras Cafe was originally titled as Jaffna, a place in Sri Lanka, but fearing the backlash from Sri Lanka, the makers decided to change the title to Madras Cafe. The film was critically acclaimed and loved by the audience.
