Bollywood actors featured on the Time's 100 Most Influential People list!
Being featured on the cover of the world's renowned TIME magazine is undeniably a matter of immense pride and prestige. A magazine that is known for initially possessed a distinctive writing style, making regular use of inverted sentences. Every year, TIME announces the list of most influential people in the world in which global celebrities, politicians, businessmen get a chance to feature on the cover page and attain international fame. But when it's about Bollywood then there are very few celebrities who get the chance to be on the list of most Influential People. So today, let's have a look at the list of Bollywood actors who featured on the Time's 100 Most Influential People list.
Deepika Padukone (2018)
In 2018, Deepika was the only Indian actress to feature in the TIME 100 Influential People in the World, sharing space with names like Nicole Kidman, Gal Gadot, Greta Gerwig and Lena Waithe. Her 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' co-star Vin Diesel had also written an essay for her in the Magazine where he mentioned her, 'Deepika is the best Earth has to offer'.
Ayushmann Khurrana (2020)
Ayushmann Khurrana has been listed under the artists' category of Time Magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People for his film choices such as 'Andhadhun' and 'Badhaai Ho'. The list also includes Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, actor Michael B Jordan, Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and musicians Jennifer Hudson and Selena Gomez and others. Well, Ayushmann is the only Indian actor listed in the 2020 magazine list.
Parveen Babi (1976)
70's fashion diva Parveen Babi was the first Bollywood actor who was featured on the cover page of the TIME magazine in July 1976 with the title, Asia's Frenetic Film Scene. Babi was very famous back then for her western fashion sense and had many hits to her credit with movies such as 'Deewaar'.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (2003)
After getting the title of Miss World and one of the most beautiful women in the country, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the second Indian Bollywood actor to be featured on the TIME cover in 2003 under the title The New Face of Film. At that time, the actress gained immense popularity and fan following from across the globe with hit films such as 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Taal' and 'Devdas'.
Priyanka Chopra (2016)
Priyanka Chopra has made all of India proud with her work in 'Quantico' and 'Baywatch'. She was featured on TIME magazine cover in 2016, and was named as one of the '100 Most Influential People in the World'.
Shahrukh Khan (2004)
Known as the King Khan of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan was featured on the TIME magazine's cover in October 2004 with the title 'Asia's Heroes 20 under 40' with a title 'A new generation is taking stage'. Shah Rukh Khan who was then at the peak of his career had won several awards under the category 'Best Actor' for the movie 'Swades'.
Aamir Khan (2012, 2013)
The only Indian actor who featured on the cover of the TIME magazine not just once but twice was Aamir Khan. In 2012, he was featured for the first time under the title 'Khan's Quest He is breaking the Bollywood mold by tackling India's social evils. Can an actor change a nation?' The second time he was featured in 2013 as the TIME magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. Back then, Aamir Khan had gained tremendous popularity for the show Satyamev Jayate.
