Elvis Presley To Play a Secret Agent in New Netflix Animated Series

Elvis Presley, the king of Rock-and-Roll, is soon joining the world of animation. It is no secret that the superstar has also aspired to become a crime fighter, and seem like his wish is finally coming true.

On the eve of 42nd anniversary of King's death, Netflix has unveiled their plan to work with Priscilla Presley, Elvis's ex-wife. Priscilla, along with John Eddie, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures Television and Authentic Brands Group will work together to bring Elvis in the most oddly fascinating project ever made.

This the collaboration will bring to our screens an adult animated series titled 'Agent King'. In 'Agent King', Elvis Presley will play a gun touting and jetpack ready secret agent on whom falls the responsibility of the world's safety. Nobody said it would be easy, as he also has to hold his day job as a mercurial rocker.

`From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world! Agent King lets him do just that,` said Priscilla Presley. `My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven't seen before.`

Presley's dream of being a crime fighter was last immortalized on screen with Liza Johnson's feature film 'Elvis and Nixon'. Michael Shannon played Elvis, who knocks on Richard Nixon's White House door in order to be sworn into the Narcotics Bureau as a secret agent.
