There may be 100 people in the room and 99 will love you, but perhaps that one person will accuse you of stealing their music. The 'Born This Way' hitmaker Lady Gaga has been called out for plagiarism.
A gentleman by the name of Steven Ronson (find him on SoundCloud), an aspiring musician himself has accused Lady Gaga and her songwriting partner and producer Mark Ronson. He has reason to believe that their Oscar-winning song 'Shallow' from 'A Star is Born' (2018) derives its 3 notes from his song 'Almost'.
Steve Ronson, seeking to get to the bottom of this has hired a musicologist who has confirmed that 'Almost' and 'Shallow' are almost similar sounding.
Lady Gaga has been quick in tackling these damaging accusations. Lady Gaga's legal representative has dismissed this incident as 'opportunistic claims' , saying that her client will vigorously fight this accusation in the court.
Whether it a cheap publicity stunt or a rightful claim for property theft, only time will tell.
