Dry Mutton Recipe


  • 4 Cloves
  • 5 Cardamoms
  • cup of Ghee
  • 500 gms Mutton
  • 2 Onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 2 Cinnamon pieces
  • 1 tbsp Curd, beaten
  • 3 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 Black Cardamoms
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • Salt according to taste
  • 5 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste


  1. Heat ghee, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms, onions and fry untill brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry. Then add coriander and cumin powder.
  3. Now add tomatoes, curd, meat, salt and chilli powder and fry it untill the meat juices are absorbed.
  4. Add 4 cups of water and cook on low fire untill done and the mutton is dry. Sprinkle coriander leaves.

Tip: Roast diced onions, carrots, and celery in the pan right along with meat. With the vegetables cooked down and flavored with the meat juices, you've the base for a wonderful gravy.
