Cabbage Salad Recipe


  • A small Cabbage
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • A Lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Green Chilli
  • Coriander leaves
  • A piece of Ginger
  • tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Chana Daal (roasted)
  • 5-10 Peanuts (coarsely ground)


  1. Finely chop the cabbage. Keep it in a serving tray.
  2. Heat oil in a kadahi.
  3. Add mustard seeds to the oil. Fry the peanuts and chana daal for half a minute.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage. Put green chilli, ginger and coriander.
  5. Mix properly and serve.

Tip: For sweeter, crisper cucumbers and salad onions, soak onion slices and cucumber slices in ice water for 30 minutes. Drain well and pat dry.
