Blessed with the most coveted set of parents (a.k.a. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan), one could ever ask for, Junior Bachchan was born to them on February 5, 1976. Abhiskek did his schooling in Bombay and New Delhi and then went to Switzerland and USA to complete his education. He did not finish his Business degree since he was eager to start his acting career.

He made a debut into the Indian Film Industry, with J.P Duttaís Refugee in 2000. The movie could not do much at the box office. But AB juniorís journey had begun and there was no dearth of people who wanted to cast him in their movies. But the Bachchan tag could not help him much, as most of his initial films were a failure. These include Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, Mumbai se aaya mera dost, Run, Kuch na kaho et al. Abhishek was struggling hard for a blockbuster when he had a break-up with his fiance Karisma Kapoor in 2002. But his patience and persevearance paid off and he got acknowledgement as a good actor in Mani Ratnamís Yuva (1994), where he played the character of Lallan with such finesse that it earned him his first award, Filmfare for Best Supporting Actor. This was followed by the success of Dhoom in the same year, where the sauve cop with his killer attitude left everyone amazed.

Then came the runaway hit Bunty aur Babli in 2005, with Rani Mukherji and dad Amitabh. 2005 saw a lot of Abhishek Bachchan, besides guest appearances in lots of films, he gave Sarkar, a remake of GodFather by Ram Gopal Verma. This film won him the Filmfare for Best Supporting actor, as Shankar Nagare, yet again. Dus and Bluffmaster completely changed his image on screen and heís now known for his cool looks and as the hottest celebrity with, with a huge female fan following.

Abhi charmed the audiences once again with Karan Joharís multi starrer Kabhi Alvida na kehna (2006). He has some very exciting projects lined up for the future and they all seem promising. Some of them are Umrao Jaan by J.P.Dutta, Dhoom 2, Sarkar 2, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Guru.
